MDG loan products: every MDG financing option we offer in the USA

One application puts you in front of all four programs. We match you to the product that fits the amount you need and how you plan to repay it, rather than pushing everyone into the same loan.

Cash Advance

$200 – $1,000

Our fastest product. Draw the cash you need, receive it by direct deposit in as little as three hours after final checks, and repay in equal installments over two to six months. No rollover, no balloon payment.

Installment Loan

$1,000 – $5,000

A fixed-rate loan with a fixed end date over 6 to 24 months, used for car repairs, medical bills, moving costs or consolidating several small balances into one payment. Your rate and payment never change.

Line of Credit

$500 – $2,500

A revolving limit you can draw from more than once. Take part as cash, use part to shop, and pay interest only on the balance you actually carry. As you repay, the credit becomes available again.

Shop Now, Pay Later

Up to $5,000

Finance laptops, TVs, furniture, mattresses and appliances with no large payment up front. Choose weekly, biweekly or monthly installments timed to your paycheck, and you own the item from day one.

What people use an MDG loan for

The amounts below are what borrowers most often request for each situation. They are a starting point, not a recommendation — borrow the amount you can comfortably repay, not the largest amount you qualify for.

Car repairs

A failed transmission or alternator is the most common reason our cash advances are drawn. No car usually means no shift, so the repair rarely waits.

Typical request: $400 – $1,500

Medical and dental bills

Deductibles, emergency room balances and dental work that insurance will not cover. Ask the provider about a payment plan first — many are interest free.

Typical request: $500 – $3,000

Rent, deposits and moving costs

First month, security deposit and a truck usually land in the same week. A fixed term means the cost is behind you before the next lease renewal.

Typical request: $800 – $2,500

Appliance replacement

A dead refrigerator or washer is one of the few purchases where financing beats waiting. Shop Now, Pay Later covers it and you own the unit from day one.

Typical request: $600 – $2,000

Consolidating small balances

Three or four small balances become one fixed payment with one payoff date. Only worth it if the new rate is lower than what you are paying now.

Typical request: $1,500 – $5,000

Emergency vet care

Clinics usually want payment at discharge. A cash advance funded the same day covers the bill while you sort out the rest.

Typical request: $300 – $1,200

Why borrowers choose MDG financing

Credit reporting included

Payment activity is reported to a national credit bureau every month, on all four products, at no extra cost.

On-time payments build history

No prepayment penalty

Pay extra or settle in full whenever you like. Interest stops accruing from that day, and nothing extra is charged for clearing the balance early.

Funded in as little as 3 hours

Cash advances are deposited by direct transfer once final checks clear. Larger installment loans typically land within one business day.

How funding works

Soft pull to prequalify

Checking your rate uses a soft credit inquiry that is visible only to you and has no effect on your score. A hard inquiry happens only after you accept an offer.

Estimates use a 29.99% APR, the midpoint of our current range of 18.00%–35.95%. Your own rate, amount and term depend on your credit profile, income and state of residence, and are confirmed in your loan agreement before you sign anything.

Every payment splits between interest and principal. Early payments are interest-heavy; later ones clear the balance faster. This is why paying extra in the first few months saves the most.

How does MDG financing work, from prequalification to payout?

Four steps, no paperwork to mail and no branch visit. Most applicants finish the form in under two minutes.

1

Check your rate

Tell us the amount you want, your income and where you live. A soft credit inquiry shows what you prequalify for without touching your score.

2

Pick your offer

Compare the amounts, terms and payment dates available to you. Nothing is locked in until you choose an offer and sign.

3

Verify and sign

Connect your bank or upload recent statements and a photo ID. A hard inquiry is made here. Your agreement states your APR, every payment and your total cost.

4

Get funded

Once final checks clear, cash advances are deposited in as little as three hours and installment loans typically within one business day.

Prequalification is not final approval

It is an early indication based on the information you give us. Final approval depends on verifying your identity, income and bank activity, and applications that do not meet our criteria are declined at this stage. We say this up front because being told "approved" and then hearing "declined" is a genuinely bad experience, and we would rather set the expectation correctly.

MDG interest rates and fees: what an MDG loan actually costs

Our APR range is 18.00% to 35.95%. Where you land inside it depends on your credit profile, income stability, the amount, the term and your state. Here is what that looks like in dollars.

Representative examples. Actual terms are personalized and confirmed in your loan agreement.

Fees we charge Only three
  • Returned payment fee when a scheduled debit is rejected by your bank, capped at your state maximum.
  • Late fee after the grace period stated in your agreement, where state law permits it.
  • Optional MDG Club membership at $8.95 biweekly, cancellable at any time.
Fees we do not charge $0
  • No application or prequalification fee.
  • No origination fee deducted from your funds.
  • No prepayment penalty, ever.

Paying early is the single most effective way to lower what an MDG loan costs. An extra $25 a month on the $1,500 example removes roughly four payments from the schedule.

MDG requirements: credit score, income and eligibility

There is no minimum credit score published as a hard cut-off, because we look at the whole picture. Applicants with scores in the mid-500s are approved regularly when income and banking history are steady.

To apply you will need

  • To be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your state.
  • A valid Social Security number and a government-issued photo ID.
  • A verifiable source of recurring income. Employment, self-employment, benefits, pensions and disability income are all considered.
  • An active checking account in your own name that receives your income.
  • A working email address for verification and application updates.
  • A residential address in a state where we lend. Products and terms vary by state.

What helps your application

  • At least 90 days of deposits in the same bank account.
  • Income paid on a predictable schedule.
  • Few or no recent returned payments on your bank statements.
  • Requesting an amount that fits your budget. Asking for $800 when you need $800 approves more often than asking for the maximum.

Common reasons applications are declined

Income that cannot be verified from bank records, a prepaid card instead of a checking account, an account too new to show history, an open bankruptcy, or an existing MDG balance that is behind.

Who we are, and how we lend

We built these products for people the largest banks decline by default: hourly workers, gig earners, single-income households and anyone whose credit file carries a few scars. Everyone is considered on their own merits. That does not mean everyone is approved, and we think it is more respectful to tell you so plainly than to advertise guaranteed approval that does not exist.

Every application is decided in real time by our own underwriting, not sold to a network of third-party lenders. Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and handled under an information security program independently certified to ISO/IEC 27001.

Our lending commitments

  • Your APR, every payment and your total cost of borrowing are disclosed before you sign.
  • We never charge a fee to check your rate.
  • We do not roll loans over or refinance you into new debt to collect fees.
  • If your circumstances change, contact us before you miss a payment and we will look at your options.

Availability and required disclosures vary by location. See our Licensing & Disclosures page for details and support contact information.

MDG cash advance compared with payday loans, card advances and rent-to-own

MDG vs Affirm, Snap Finance, Fingerhut and OppLoans

These four come up most often when borrowers are weighing their options. Each solves a different problem, so the honest answer is that one of them may suit you better than we do.

Competitor products, rates and terms change frequently. Figures quoted are for orientation only — check each lender's own disclosures before you decide. Company names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here for comparison only.

What to weigh before you borrow

An honest look at where MDG financing works well and where something else may serve you better.

Where MDG works well

  • You need a small amount quickly and can repay it inside two years.
  • Your credit history keeps you out of bank personal loans.
  • You want a fixed end date rather than a revolving balance that never clears.
  • You want the repayment to count towards rebuilding your credit file.

Where to think twice

  • Our APRs are far above those of a credit union loan or a 0% card. If you qualify for either, take it.
  • Borrowing to cover an ongoing shortfall rather than a one-off expense rarely ends well.
  • Carried to full term, a small loan can add several hundred dollars in interest. The tables above show exactly how much.
  • If money is already tight every month, a nonprofit credit counsellor may be a better first call than any lender.

Loan terms explained in plain English

The words that appear on your agreement, defined without the legal padding. If anything in your own paperwork is unclear, email support before you sign it.

APR (annual percentage rate)
The yearly cost of a loan including interest and most fees, expressed as a percentage. It is the only number that lets you compare two loans fairly, which is why it appears on every disclosure.
Interest rate
The cost of borrowing the principal alone, with no fees included. A loan can show a low interest rate and still carry a high APR once fees are added.
Soft credit inquiry (soft pull)
A credit check visible only to you that has no effect on your score. It is what we use to prequalify you and show a rate before you commit.
Hard credit inquiry (hard pull)
A check recorded on your credit file that can lower your score slightly. It happens only after you accept an offer and move to final verification.
Installment loan
A fixed amount repaid in equal payments over a set term, with a known end date. Once it is repaid the account closes.
Revolving credit
A limit you can draw from, repay and draw again, such as a line of credit or a credit card. Interest applies only to the balance you carry.
Principal
The amount you actually borrowed, before interest. Each payment reduces it a little more than the one before.
Finance charge
The total dollar cost of credit over the life of the loan. On the $1,500 example in our rates table, it is $381.00.
Origination fee
A fee some lenders deduct from your funds before sending them, so you receive less than you borrowed. We do not charge one.
Prepayment penalty
A charge for paying a loan off early. We never charge one, so settling ahead of schedule always reduces your total cost.
Adverse action notice
The written explanation a lender must send when an application is declined, listing the main reasons. It is useful information, so read it rather than filing it away.
Amortization
How each payment is split between interest and principal. Early payments are interest-heavy, which is why paying extra in the first months saves the most.

MDG loans FAQ: verification, funding and credit checks

How can I verify important information before applying?

Review the disclosures presented with your application and agreement, including lender identity, APR, finance charge, payment schedule and fees. For verified licensing information that applies to your location, email [email protected].

What credit score do I need for an MDG loan?

There is no published minimum. Income stability, banking history and how much you are asking for carry as much weight as your score, and applicants in the mid-500s are approved regularly. A thin file is not automatically a decline.

Does checking my rate hurt my credit score?

No. Prequalification uses a soft credit inquiry, which is visible only to you and has no effect on your score. A hard inquiry is made only after you accept an offer and move to final verification, and we tell you before that happens.

How fast will I get the money?

Cash advances are deposited in as little as three hours after final checks clear. Larger installment loans usually arrive within one business day. Timing also depends on your own bank's posting schedule, and applications submitted late on a Friday or over a public holiday can take longer.

I was prequalified and then declined. Why?

Prequalification is an early indication based on what you entered, not a final decision. Verification can surface something the soft pull could not see: income that cannot be traced in your bank records, an account that is too new, a prepaid card rather than a checking account, or an open bankruptcy. If you were declined, you will receive an adverse action notice explaining the main reasons, which is useful information to act on.

Can I take a cash advance from my MDG line of credit?

Cash access is a separate qualification within the line of credit, so some approved accounts start with shopping access only. If your account is shopping-only, make three consecutive on-time payments and then ask our support team to review it for cash access.

Can I pay my MDG loan off early?

Yes, at any time, with no penalty and no fee. Interest is charged on your outstanding balance, so paying ahead of schedule genuinely reduces what you pay overall. Your live payoff figure is shown in your account.

Do you lend in my state?

Availability, maximum amounts and rates are governed by state law, and we are not licensed in every state. Enter your ZIP code when you check your rate and you will see the products and limits available where you live before you go any further.

What happens if I miss a payment?

A returned payment may trigger a fee from us and from your bank, a late fee may apply after the grace period in your agreement, and the missed payment is reported to the credit bureau. email support before the due date if you know a payment will be short. Options are much wider before the account goes past due than after.

Is the MDG Club membership required?

No. It is entirely optional, costs $8.95 biweekly, and can be cancelled at any time. It adds benefits such as skipping one payment every three months, moving a payment date, and automatic monthly credit limit reviews. Declining it does not affect your loan decision or your rate.
